What are your primary responsibilities at Forge 53°?
As a Project Manager, I oversee projects as they move from design to fabrication to installation. I coordinate our talented team members through the tasks needed to complete each project. On the design side, I work closely with clients and designers to bring their visions to life and translate those approved designs into fabrication drawings.
How long have you been with Forge 53°, and what led you to join the company?
I’ve been with Forge 53° full-time since August 2020. While studying Civil Engineering Technology at NAIT, a friend introduced me to Mike and Jesse after learning we all shared a mutual love for skateboarding.
What do you enjoy most about working at Forge 53°?
I love working within a creative environment. Whether it's collaborating with designers, home builders, or the awesome people at Forge 53°, the creative energy is inspiring. Plus, working with friends in a laid-back setting makes getting up for work a lot easier!
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?
Most of my winters are spent snowboarding, and I love to travel whenever I can.
What’s your favourite project you’ve worked on at Forge 53°?
My favourite projects are the ones that the general public gets to enjoy. The Whyte Ave parklet project with Vignettes was particularly rewarding, as it was my first time working on public infrastructure. Seeing people use and appreciate the space during the summer was awesome.
What motivates you to do your best work every day?
Being able to work creatively and bring our clients’ visions to life is incredibly exciting. The opportunity to collaborate with friends in a relaxed environment makes every day enjoyable.
What’s your favourite book, movie, or TV show?
I bet I’ve watched Austin Powers over 100 times—Groovy baby...yeah!
