MORE ABOUT KERRIE
What are your primary responsibilities at Forge 53°?
I manage the day-to-day operations to ensure everything runs smoothly. This includes client communication, marketing, user experience, and supporting the team.
How long have you been with Forge 53°, and what led you to join the company?
I've known Mike and Jesse since 2009. I worked part-time at Forge 53° in 2018 while completing my Arts & Cultural Management diploma at MacEwan. After leaving to pursue a full-time marketing position in the arts, I returned to Forge in 2021 to take on my current role. It’s a great fit for my background and my love for building strong customer relationships.
What do you enjoy most about working at Forge 53°?
The crew. There are a million inside jokes, it’s fun to work with people who get my stupid references and aren’t afraid of a lil prank.
What’s your favourite project you’ve worked on at Forge 53°?
Our evolving showroom! Working with the team to create a space where we can showcase our work and welcome clients has been incredibly rewarding. I also have plans to collaborate with local makers to take it to the next level.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?
Thrifting has always been a passion of mine—I worked at an antique store in high school, and I've been treasure hunting ever since. I love to hit up thrift shops and flea markets, especially when I’m travelling. I'm also trying to make the most of Edmonton’s river valley with cycling and walking in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter. Life’s a garden - dig it!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
The ability to speak any language - it would be amazing for travelling.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I can lick my own elbow.
What’s your favourite book, movie, or TV show?
My top three movies are Goodfellas, Bridesmaids, and Superbad. My favourite book is the comic series, Wendy, by Walter Scott.
What is your favourite chip flavour?
Miss Vickie’s Salt & Vinegar is elite.
