How heavy are metal and glass doors?
Metal and glass doors are generally heavier than traditional wood or hollow-core doors due to the weight of the materials. Depending on the size and design, a typical metal and glass door can weigh anywhere from 100 to 200 pounds or more. While this added weight enhances the door’s durability and security, it may require stronger hinges and at least two people to handle the installation safely.
At Forge 53°, we custom design our doors to ensure that the weight is evenly distributed, making them as easy as possible to install without compromising on quality.
